Why the Cosmetology Master Notebook is an heirloom

An heirloom is something made to outlive the person who made it. Furniture. A recipe with no measurements. A way of sectioning hair that your aunt did without thinking and you now do without thinking.

The Cosmetology Master Notebook is a digital notebook. Calling it an heirloom sounds like a stretch. But the test isn't the price. It's whether the thing is built to be kept and handed on.

What's actually in it

It's the notebook I'm keeping while I go through my 1,000 hours: hour tracking, study notes, the diagrams I redraw until they stick. Not a polished textbook. A working record of one person learning a craft on every texture and density, written so the next set of hands doesn't start from zero.

That's the Heirlooms pillar doing its job: treating technique as something you archive and pass down, not something you gatekeep.

Why write it down at all

Because craft that only lives in one person's hands dies with that person. The notebook is insurance against that. When the Foundation runs its first youth braiding cohort, this is the kind of document that goes in their hands on day one.

It's getting a few finishing touches before it goes on sale. For now there's a sneak peek in the Shop. Once it's out, it'll be updated as the hours add up.
