The Big House

The Big House is the sanctuary the whole brand was pointed at, and The Kitchen is the room inside it where the chair actually lives.

Run by one person who knows what's on your head and what kind of week you've had. Not a chain. Not a suite with a rotating cast. A sanctuary, which is a word I don't use lightly. It means the room owes you safety before it owes you anything else.

It's built on the ethos behind the sanctuary: For Us Forever, and The Kitchen opens April 2027, when the hours are done and the license is in hand.

About the name

A big house is where everybody ends up. It's the kitchen during the holidays, the porch in the summer, the one address the whole family knows by heart.

That's the standard, and it's also where the salon gets its name. The Kitchen is the room inside The Big House where the actual work happens: the chair, the visit, the craft. Everybody ends up in the kitchen eventually; ours just happens to be where hair gets done too.

The name is a promise about how the door works, which is why it comes straight out of the Homecoming pillar rather than out of a branding exercise.

How a visit works in The Kitchen

Four stages. Every visit, every time.

1 · Homecoming. You're received before you're worked on. Put down your purse, lay down your baggage and burdens, and have a seat. Say as much or as little as you want. This is the Homecoming step. It isn't a warm-up. It's the foundation the rest of the visit stands on: you're welcomed and heard before anyone touches your hair.

2 · Rooted. The consultation and the work. What your hair is actually doing, what it's been through, what's realistic between now and the next time we see you. Technique here comes out of the Rooted step: craft treated as something archived and handed on, not improvised.

3 · Healed. You leave with a plan you can keep, not a look you can't maintain. You walk out actually better than when you sat down. Not just handled. Healed.

4 · Heirloom. One visit healed is a good day. A standing one is a different thing: the point where the relationship itself becomes what you keep. That's the whole reason the membership exists. Here's what the Heirloom stage looks like as a membership.

Your seat at the table

Every client has a place in this house. It isn't a loyalty program. It's how the house remembers you.

House Visit. Your first time in the chair. Your hair history gets written down before anything gets touched.

Returning Home. You came back. Your history card is waiting, and this visit builds on the last one.

Porch Seat. You're a regular with a standing date. You get first pick of holiday and back-to-school dates, and your rotation is held before the calendar opens.

The Front Door. Been a while? The door's open. Come back whenever you're ready. No penalty, no lecture. Just open arms and family feelings.

Company Preparations. Already have a stylist? We do the braid-downs and prep so your install goes right. You stay with your stylist. That trust is the point.

The Kitchen's menu

This is the planned menu for when The Kitchen opens, built around what actually gets done in a chair over a year, not a list designed to look impressive.

  • Homecoming Consultation: first visit, every new guest. Hair history, scalp, density, texture, and what you want your life with your hair to look like.

  • Silk Press & Trim

  • Protective Styling: braids, twists, and installs

  • Natural Style & Set: roller sets, wash-and-go, defined styles

  • Color Service: consultation required

  • Scalp & Restoration Treatment

  • The Standing Chair: recurring appointment, members only

Coming in every month beats coming in once: make it recurring with the Saved Plate.

Right now, while we prepare our house

The Kitchen isn't open yet, but we're not sitting on our hands until it is. We're currently seeing a small number of clients through our stylist's school clinic, on the junior-level clinic menu below, while our stylist finishes their hours.

Junior clinic menu (school-set pricing, subject to change as we move through the program)

  • Women's Cut / Men's Cut: $18

  • Wash & Style: $15

  • Root Retouch: $40

  • Global Color + Gloss: $50

  • Partial Foil (20 foils): $45. Progressive T or Seamless Partial only, no tint between foils

This is separate from The Kitchen and from the Saved Plate. It's supervised, it's limited, and it isn't the finished room. If you want in on it now, reach out here rather than joining the waitlist below, which is for The Kitchen's opening.

The Saved Plate

Three plates, built so that "I'll call when I need something" stops being the plan.
